The Punjab government has  started integral air conditioned coaches from various    district headquarters through PUNBUS, in the state of Punjab, to provide comfortable bus service to the general public. The Hon’ble chief minister, Punjab has very kindly consented to flag off the first air conditioned integral coach


On 24th March, 2006, the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh flagged off the much awaited inaugural Bus Service “PUNJ-AAB” (symbolizing five rivers of joint Punjab of pre partition between Amritsar and Nankana Sahib, the birth place of Guru Nanak Dev Ji).



Amritsar bus from Pakistan “DOSTI” (Friendship) crossed the Joint Check Post of the Wagah Border at 11.30 am on January 20, 2006. It bridged the gap between two Punjabs (East and West), that were divided by the Red cliff Line 58 years ago.
